Code execution via omitted fetch_tip dangerous-global check
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Eval injection in picklescan before 0.0.29 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted pickle file. The scanner's dangerous-global table omits idlelib.calltip.Calltip.fetch_tip, whose expression argument reaches eval(), so the payload is reported as safe. Execution requires a user or downstream process to trust the scan result and load the file with pickle.load().

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
