CVE-2025-71330Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Event-loop hang via zero-length ICNS entry

Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026

Denial of service in image-size 1.1.0 through 1.2.1 and 2.0.0 through 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to hang Node.js via crafted ICNS data. The ICNS detector adds an untrusted entry length to its image offset without rejecting zero, so a zero-length entry leaves the parser loop's offset unchanged. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled ICNS bytes to the synchronous parser, which monopolizes that process's event loop.
