Host crash via NULL entry dereference
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in bcm_vk_read() in the Linux Kernel allows local users to crash the kernel through the bcm_vk device. When an oversized message leaves entry NULL and sets rc to -EMSGSIZE, the error path still reads entry->to_h_msg, entry->usr_msg_id, and entry->to_h_blks. Access to the Broadcom VK device interface is required, and successful exploitation interrupts the entire host without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
