CVE-2025-71272

Local denial of service via interface-registration leak

Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026

Memory leak in the MOST core of Linux Kernel allows local users to interrupt service by triggering an early interface-registration failure. most_register_interface returns immediately on pre-registration errors without reaching a release callback, leaving caller-allocated interface memory unreleased. Local low-privileged access to a path that can provoke failed MOST interface registration is required; repeated failures exhaust kernel memory and deny service.
