CVE-2025-71257Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated access via password-reset guest token

Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026

Authentication bypass in BMC FootPrints ITSM 20.20.02 through 20.24.01.001 allows remote attackers to access restricted functions. The password-reset request filter creates a guest authentication context and issues a SEC_TOKEN that satisfies the application's catch-all isAuthenticated check. No credentials or user interaction are required; possession of that token exposes restricted APIs and servlets for reading application data and modifying system resources.
