Authenticated code execution via unchecked profile-image upload
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Code Projects Online Note Sharing 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code. The image parameter in dashboard/userprofile.php accepts disguised PHP payloads without adequate file validation and stores them in a web-accessible profilepics directory. A valid user session and access to the profile-image handler are required; successful exploitation runs uploaded code in the web server's security context.
