CVE-2025-71214

Root code execution via unvalidated IPC origins

Published May 21, 2026 · Updated May 21, 2026

Origin validation failure in the Apex One (Mac) iCore service allows local users to execute arbitrary code as root through IPC messages. The service processes IPC requests without verifying that each message came from an authorized sender before performing privileged operations. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution on a macOS endpoint and user interaction, and successful exploitation gives the process root privileges.
