CVE-2025-71189

Local denial of service via OF-node leak

Published Jan 31, 2026 · Updated Jan 31, 2026

A memory leak in the RZ/N1 DMAMUX driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to interrupt service through resource exhaustion. The rzn1_dmamux_route_allocate() error paths free the route map without calling of_node_put() on the referenced DMA-master device-tree node. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a Renesas RZ/N1 system using this driver; repeated late allocation failures consume kernel resources.
