Local service interruption via DMA device-reference leak
Published Jan 31, 2026 · Updated Jan 31, 2026
Resource leak in the TI DMA crossbar driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to interrupt service through AM335x route allocations. ti_am335x_xbar_route_allocate() obtains a platform-device reference with of_find_device_by_node() but previously returned without calling put_device() on that reference. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and repeated route allocation on hardware using the AM335x EDMA crossbar; retained references can exhaust kernel resources and interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
