Service interruption via unchecked importpictureurl copy
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025
Buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 840G 3.1.1-190328 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via a crafted web request. The formPictureUrl handler passes the attacker-controlled importpictureurl value to strcpy without checking its length before copying it into a fixed device-structure field. Access to the management endpoint and valid credentials are required, and the published proof of concept demonstrates denial of service rather than code execution.
