Router crash via unchecked addHostFilter copy
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025
Buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 840G 3.1.1-190328 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a crafted addHostFilter value. The websWhiteList handler passes addHostFilter to strcpy without checking the destination buffer size, corrupting adjacent memory. An authenticated management session is required, and the published PoC demonstrates denial of service; Check Point also identifies arbitrary code execution as an impact.
