CVE-2025-71154Hinoki check available

Local memory exhaustion via failed URB cleanup

Published Jan 23, 2026 · Updated Jan 23, 2026

Memory leak in the rtl8150 USB network driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to exhaust kernel memory after URB submission failures. The async_set_registers() error path leaves its allocated async_req structure and URB unfreed because async_set_reg_cb() never runs when usb_submit_urb() fails. Reachability requires local access to a system using the affected rtl8150 driver and a failed asynchronous USB request; the bounded impact is memory exhaustion and service interruption.
