CVE-2025-71147

Local denial of service via TPM2 load leak

Published Jan 23, 2026 · Updated Jan 23, 2026

Memory leak in the Linux Kernel trusted-key subsystem allows local users to exhaust kernel memory through failed TPM2 key loads. tpm2_load_cmd obtains a temporary blob from tpm2_key_decode but does not release it when later processing returns an error. A low-privileged local user must reach trusted-key TPM2 loading and repeatedly trigger a failure; sustained leakage can interrupt service by exhausting kernel memory.
