CVE-2025-71133

Kernel memory disclosure via premature neighbour dereference

Published Jan 14, 2026 · Updated Jan 14, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux Kernel 5.14 through affected branch releases allows local users to disclose kernel memory through irdma events. The irdma_net_event callback reads neigh->dev before confirming NETEVENT_NEIGH_UPDATE, so other event types can make ptr reference a structure smaller than struct neighbour and cause a stack out-of-bounds read. Reaching the flaw requires local low-privileged access and the irdma notifier path; the demonstrated effect is a KASAN report on debug kernels, while NVD also assesses possible service interruption.
