CVE-2025-71131Network attack vector

Remote service interruption via request use-after-free

Published Jan 14, 2026 · Updated Jan 14, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux Kernel seqiv allows remote attackers to interrupt service by triggering asynchronous AEAD encryption. The seqiv path calls crypto_aead_encrypt, then dereferences req->iv even though asynchronous completion can already have freed the request. No credentials or user interaction are required, and successful triggering interrupts availability without reported data exposure or modification.
