Local system crash via unchecked postamble pointer
Published Jan 14, 2026 · Updated Jan 14, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel 6.13 through 6.18.2 allows local users to crash systems through MSM A6xx preemption. In drivers/gpu/drm/msm/adreno/a6xx_preempt.c, a6xx_preempt_init() calls preempt_prepare_postamble() before checking whether postamble allocation returned a NULL pointer. The crash requires local low-privilege access, an MSM A6xx GPU using preemption, and a failed postamble allocation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
