Kernel crash via incorrect XDP frame mapping
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Denial of service in affected Linux Kernel releases allows local users to crash the kernel through zero-copy XDP_TX processing. stmmac_xdp_xmit_back treats every converted frame as page-pool memory, even when a zero-copy XSK buffer produces MEM_TYPE_PAGE_ORDER0, causing an invalid DMA mapping. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access, an stmmac interface, and a zero-copy XSK pool running an XDP program that returns XDP_TX.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
