Remote service crash via unchecked cloneType2 copy
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX-3 16.03.12.10_CN allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted HTTP request. The fromAdvSetMacMtuWan function passes the cloneType2 request value to strcpy, which copies it into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. No authentication is required to submit the request to the exposed AdvSetMacMtuWan endpoint, and an oversized value corrupts adjacent stack memory and persistently interrupts router services.
