Browser script execution via unencoded installer fields
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Reflected XSS in Subrion CMS 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a user's browser through the installation form. The form returns dbuser, dbpwd, and dbname POST values in HTML without encoding, allowing an injected SVG onload handler to execute. Exploitation requires a user to submit attacker-controlled values while the installer endpoint is accessible; execution remains within that page's browser origin.
