CVE-2025-70873Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Heap-data disclosure via oversized ZIP length

Published Mar 12, 2026 · Updated Mar 12, 2026

Information disclosure in SQLite's zipfile extension 3.51.1 and earlier allows attackers to read heap data from a crafted ZIP file. zipfileInflate allocates a buffer from the ZIP directory's claimed uncompressed size, then returns that full size instead of the bytes actually inflated, exposing an uninitialized tail. Reachability requires the zipfile extension and attacker-controlled ZIP input; the extension is usually present in the CLI but not the standard library.
