Unauthenticated router crash via unchecked cloneType copy
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX-1806 firmware 1.0.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted HTTP request. The sub_65B5C function passes the user-controlled cloneType field from /goform/AdvSetMacMtuWan to strcpy, which copies it without bounds checking into a 32-byte stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; an oversized value corrupts adjacent stack memory, crashes the router, and interrupts its network services.
