CVE-2025-7074Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service hang via catastrophic regex backtracking

Published Jul 5, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025

ReDoS in Vercel Hyper 3.4.0 and 3.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to hang the application with crafted glob-pattern input. Three regular expressions in bin/rimraf-standalone.js greedily process unmatched braces or repeated globstar sequences, causing catastrophic backtracking and excessive CPU use. The public report does not identify the authenticated Hyper interface that supplies attacker-controlled patterns, limiting remote-exposure assessment.
