Service crash via unchecked strcpy of device name
Published Jan 21, 2026 · Updated Jan 21, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX-1806 1.0.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted deviceList value. The formSetMacFilterCfg path passes each attacker-controlled device name to sub_38214, which uses strcpy to copy it into only 128 available bytes of a stack buffer. An unauthenticated HTTP POST can overwrite saved control data and persistently interrupt router service; the CVE record reports denial of service only.
