Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped widget attributes
Published Jul 4, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in dotrex PowerFolio 3.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through widget Custom JS Attributes. The portfolio and image-gallery widgets accept these attribute values without sufficient input sanitization and emit them without adequate HTML escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient; the payload runs when any user opens the affected page and can read or alter data available to that browser session.
