Authenticated command execution via partial host_time validation
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X6000R firmware 9.4.0cu.1498_B20250826 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary shell commands. The NTPSyncWithHost handler in /usr/sbin/shttpd validates only the first two whitespace-delimited host_time tokens, then embeds the entire value in a date -s command passed to CsteSystem. Valid credentials and network access to the management CGI are required, after which shell metacharacters permit command execution with the web service's privileges.
