Stored XSS via executable SVG recipe assets
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Stored XSS in Mealie 3.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted recipe SVG asset. The recipe asset endpoint stores attacker-controlled SVG markup and serves it from /api/media/recipes/ with image/svg+xml, allowing embedded script to run under the application origin. An attacker needs an account and asset-upload access, and execution requires a victim to open the stored SVG, exposing actions and data available to that session.
