Interface redressing via insufficient Recipe Notes sanitization
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Stored HTML injection in Mealie before 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter recipe views through crafted recipe notes. The SafeMarkdown renderer permits unsafe HTML attributes, including attacker-controlled positioning and link targets, so saved note content can overlay the recipe interface. An account with permission to create or edit recipes is required; JavaScript execution was not observed, but a viewed recipe can obscure content, capture clicks, and redirect users.
