Sensitive log disclosure via hard-coded encryption key
Published Aug 9, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025
Incorrect encryption in BYD DiLink 3.0 OS 13.1.32.2307211.1 allows physically proximate attackers to read sensitive system logs. The multimedia unit encrypts periodic log dumps with AES material whose initialization vector can be extracted and whose hard-coded key can be regenerated. Physical vehicle and IVI debug-port access are required; exposed data includes PII and vehicle location information.
