Administrator-browser script execution via stored comment link
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Stored XSS in PluXml 5.8.22 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser via a comment link. The article-comments path stores the unsanitized link field, and core/admin/comments.php later renders it in the Administration panel without neutralizing script elements. Exploitation requires an administrator to review the submitted comment; the public comments view does not render the payload, while privileged users can also plant it by editing comments.
