Stored XSS via HTML-typed AJAX JSON
Published Feb 13, 2026 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Stored XSS in OpenSourcePOS 3.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through crafted attribute data. AJAX endpoints such as /attributes/search return stored user input as JSON but label the response text/html, causing browsers to parse injected markup and event handlers as HTML. Exploitation requires attribute-creation access and a victim who opens the crafted endpoint; execution is confined to that victim's browser session and privileges.
