CVE-2025-7006

Antivirus process crash via malformed PE scan

Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026

Use-after-free in Gen Digital antivirus products before VPS 25022500 allows attackers to crash the antivirus process with a malformed Windows PE file. The shared scanning engine accesses stack memory after its lifetime has ended while parsing the crafted file; Gen Digital has not disclosed the affected function or PE field. The file must reach a scan on Windows, macOS, or Linux, and successful triggering interrupts antivirus scanning without reported code execution or data exposure.
