Uncontrolled recursion in Gen Digital antivirus products before VPS 25031700 allows local users to interrupt scanning with a malformed PE file. The shared scanning engine recursively processes malformed Windows PE structures without a terminating condition, exhausting the antivirus process. Exploitation requires local file scanning and interrupts only that process, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
