CVE-2025-7002

Code execution via malformed PDF heap read

Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026

Heap out-of-bounds read in the Avira Antivirus engine before 8.3.70.68 allows local users to execute code or crash it via a malformed PDF. The public record identifies a heap buffer read beyond its allocation during PDF scanning but does not disclose the parser function or failed bounds check. Exploitation requires user interaction and a crafted PDF to reach the local engine; successful abuse executes code in the engine process or crashes that process.
