Stored XSS via unvalidated remote SVG rendering
Published Jul 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in ThemeREX Addons 2.35.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through SVG rendering. The trx_addons_get_svg_from_file() routine accepts an unvalidated svg URL from shortcode or Elementor settings, and trx_addons_show_layout() emits the fetched SVG without sanitizing or escaping its content. Contributor-level access is required; scripts persist in pages and execute when a visitor renders the attacker-supplied SVG.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
