Device takeover via unauthenticated BLE OTA writes
Published Mar 4, 2026 · Updated Mar 4, 2026
Missing authentication in SRK Powertech Pebble Prism Ultra 2.9.2 allows adjacent attackers to alter the device over BLE. The firmware accepts unauthenticated GATT control-handle writes that enter the bootloader, and its OTA service installs binaries without verifying a signature. BLE proximity is sufficient without pairing, exposing cleartext notifications and enabling malicious firmware installation, arbitrary device commands, or service loss.
