CVE-2025-6996

Local password disclosure via recoverable credential encryption

Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

Improper encryption in the Ivanti Endpoint Manager agent before 2024 SU3 and 2022 SU8 Security Update 1 allows local users to decrypt passwords. The agent stores other users’ passwords with recoverable encryption, but Ivanti has not disclosed the cryptographic operation or credential store involved. A low-privileged authenticated session is required; exploitation exposes other users’ credentials without a reported service interruption.
