File disclosure via unrestricted custom XSLT parsing
Published Oct 6, 2025 · Updated Oct 6, 2025
XXE in LangChain Text Splitters before 0.3.9 allows remote attackers to read local files through HTMLSectionSplitter custom XSLT. The class passes an arbitrary stylesheet to lxml.etree.parse and lxml.etree.XSLT without entity restrictions, network blocking, or XSLT access controls. Exploitation requires an application to accept an untrusted custom stylesheet; no authentication or user interaction is otherwise required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
