Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked container slot
Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026
Write-what-where in p2r3 Bareiron at commit 8e4d40 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted container packets. The cs_clickContainer handler uses an unchecked, user-controlled slot index to derive inventory or chest-storage pointers, then writes item and count values through them. No authentication or user interaction is required; a network client can overwrite storage_ptr and redirect subsequent writes to attacker-selected memory.
