Unauthenticated memory disclosure via unchecked hotbar index
Published Feb 12, 2026 · Updated Feb 12, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in p2r3 bareiron commit 8e4d4020d allows remote attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted packet. cs_setHeldItem truncates a user-controlled 16-bit held-item value into player->hotbar without checking the inventory bounds, and handlePlayerAction later reads inventory arrays at that index. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the exposed values are returned in a container-slot response.
