Session data theft via unsanitized subtitle markup
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Cross-site scripting in asbplayer Chrome Extension 1.14.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via a crafted .srt file. The subtitle loading function processes attacker-controlled subtitle markup without neutralizing executable HTML, so script runs in the active streaming platform's same-site context. A user must load the file; execution can issue unauthorized same-site API requests and exfiltrate session data.
