Data disclosure via unparameterized Find_SRID geometry name
Published Jan 30, 2026 · Updated Jan 30, 2026
SQL injection in GeoPandas before 1.1.2 allows remote attackers to read PostgreSQL data through a crafted geometry column name. The to_postgis() path interpolates schema_name, table name, and attacker-controlled geom_name directly into a Find_SRID SQL string. The application must pass attacker-controlled geometry metadata through rename_geometry() and then invoke to_postgis(); access remains bounded by the database connection's privileges.
