CVE-2025-69646Public exploit

Local service interruption via DWARF warning loop

Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026

Denial of service in GNU Binutils objdump 2.44 allows local users to hang analysis by processing malformed DWARF debug_rnglists data. The debug_rnglists header parser repeatedly emits the same warning without advancing past malformed data or terminating the analysis. A local user must cause objdump to analyze a crafted binary; the loop consumes CPU and I/O until the process is interrupted.
