Code execution via path-traversing import filename
Published Feb 4, 2026 · Updated Feb 4, 2026
Path traversal in coto: Tarot, Astro & Healing 11.4.0 allows attackers to overwrite the Android app's internal files during import. The exported MainActivity trusts a content provider's _display_name value as a destination filename, allowing ../ segments to escape the import directory and replace files such as WebViewChromiumPrefs.xml. A malicious Android app must send a crafted ACTION_SEND intent and the victim must open it; overwrite can expose data, prevent launch, or enable code execution.
