Root command execution via hardcoded service tokens
Published Jan 9, 2026 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Remote code execution in RUCKUS Networks vRIoT IoT Controller before 3.0.0.0 (GA) allows remote attackers to execute OS commands as root. The TCP port 2004 command service validates authentication generated from a hardcoded TOTP secret and embedded static token, then runs supplied commands with root privileges. Reachability requires network access to port 2004 and credentials extracted from the appliance or a compromised device; successful exploitation compromises the controller.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.3.0.0 (GA) <3.0.0.0 (GA)
- Affected versionversion=2.3.1.0 (MR) <3.0.0.0 (GA)
