Share-token disclosure via missing endpoint authorization
Published Jan 2, 2026 · Updated Jan 2, 2026
Incorrect authorization in the Plex.tv Backend through 2025-12-31 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve unrelated share tokens. The shared_servers endpoint returns associated share tokens to non-server device tokens instead of restricting access to server tokens or specifically scoped integrations. Possession of a valid client-device token is required, and disclosed tokens grant access to server shares assigned to other users.
