CVE-2025-69414Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Persistent owner access via transient-token exchange

Published Jan 2, 2026 · Updated Jan 2, 2026

Incorrect authorization in Plex Media Server through 1.42.2.10156 allows remote authenticated users to obtain a permanent access token. The /myplex/account endpoint accepts an owner transient token and returns the owner's permanent access token, converting a temporary credential into a long-lived one. Exploitation requires possession of an owner transient token, such as from a compromised device; the returned credential grants persistent owner access that survives removal of that device.
