Subscriber-level configuration changes via missing capability check
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
Missing authorization in Fahad Mahmood RSS Feed Widget 3.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter settings through AJAX. The rsfw_update_options handler verifies a nonce but does not check the caller's manage_options capability before changing plugin configuration. Subscriber-level access and a valid action nonce are required, and successful exploitation is limited to unauthorized configuration changes.
