Unauthenticated database replacement via whitelisted upload endpoint
Published Jan 21, 2026 · Updated Jan 21, 2026
Missing authentication in SQLBot before 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to replace PostgreSQL tables through crafted Excel or CSV uploads. The uploadExcel route is placed on TokenMiddleware's whitelist, after which pandas parses the file and to_sql replacement writes its contents into corresponding tables. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful exploitation changes application data and consumes disk space because uploaded files remain stored.
