Improper exception handling in RustFS 1.0.0-alpha.13 through 1.0.0-alpha.77 allows remote attackers to interrupt metrics via gRPC. The get_metrics handler unwraps MessagePack deserialization results for client-supplied metric_type and opts bytes, so empty or truncated payloads trigger a panic. The endpoint shares TCP port 9000 with S3 and accepts a known static authorization header; exploitation terminates its worker and disrupts metrics service.
