Unauthenticated service crash via unchecked identity indexes
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
Improper array-index validation in free5GC AMF 1.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the service via a NAS Registration Request. The MobileIdentity5GS.GetSUCI path indexes a short 5GS Mobile Identity buffer before verifying the field lengths required by SUCI parsing. An unauthenticated SCTP connection to the NGAP interface is sufficient; the malformed InitialUEMessage triggers a Go index-out-of-range panic that terminates AMF.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
